Before that, I managed venues and built a reputation for running events across Dundee that people genuinely enjoyed. I still do — it's what keeps me properly connected to this city, its communities, and the people in it.
That background gave me something you don't get from a classroom: an instinct for people. I know how to have a real conversation, how to put someone at ease during one of the biggest decisions of their life, and how to keep things moving when they need to move.
